    Default newbie vectra ICE questions

    lo all,

I'm looking into buying a Veccy-C in a few months and so am looking for some info.

I currently have an Astra-G in which I've stuck an aftermarket HU so I have bluetooth connectivity to my phone for handsfree calling. As a field engineer (IT) I spend a lot of time in the car and do make/take calls.

I've looked at the vectra interior and obviously the Vx HU is big, do most people stick with Vx headunits or is there good aftermarket solutions for filling the gap with an aftermarket HU? Do any of the Vx HUs come with bluetooth?

Also, regarding the Sat Nav versions, how do people rate the built-in sat nav? I swear by TomTom and would be looking for something to be as good otherwise I'd just stick with my TomTom Go and the built-in sat nav wouldn't get used.

    Thanks.

    knox

Any single DIN or double DIN headunits will fit due to there being faceplate adaptors.

I find the sat nav ok.. it's not as good as the tomtom though as it will only do 5 digit post codes, but gets me to where I need to get when I use it..(it could be taking me all around the world though as I rarely check it )

I take it the Vx HU's don't have outputs on the back for subs etc?

Nope, not as far as i know. The only possibility is one of the opera units, but i have no rational basis for that guess

hmmm looks like I'll take my HU from my astra and buy faceplate. Might make for a good excuse for a new HU though actually since my current one doesn't seem to support steering wheel controls rather annoyingly.

that does sound like a good enough reason for a new HU..

I changes my headunit. Its quite easy and you can get facia plates in various finishes to match the dash. Autoleads sell adapters so you can keep the steering wheel controls too.

    HTH

Oh I have a spare (half canbus autoleads adapter for sale if you need one)
