Here we go!! The car is a Vectra 2006 CDTI 150 SRI
I'm getting a whineing noise coming from the back of my car so i booked the car into Vauxhall to have this looked at (as the cars still under full VX warranty) and they thought it was the wheel bearings, so they changed both rear wheel bearings and the noise is still there, so i called them up again and they told me to bring the car in.
So again i booked the car in and they said they had checked everything that it could be and they can't find anything mechanically wrong, so they said it must be the tyres i've fitted to my car, so they said as a test they changed all 4 wheels to vxr 18" alloys from the managers car and then test drove my car and said the noise has gone??
Now....this is where the headache begins i never got to drive the car with the different wheels on it so i don't know if this is true or not and i've had these tyres fitted on my car since july 08 and i've never had this noise before and i told them that and they said it could have started due to the tyres now being slightly worn?? so i was charged £60 for 1 hours labour and the car still makes the noise, can anyone give me any help or advice as to what to do as i don't know if i've just been fobbed off and this is nonsence as i feel as if i've been done!!
The options i have thought of is to change the 2 rear wheels and tyres myself onto different ones then drive the car myself and see if it makes any difference but i don't have donor wheels to try this with, would anyone be willing to help me out with this?
The wheels on my car are bk racing 18" VXR replica wheels and the tyres in question are called Firenza ST-08 225/40/18
Does anyone else have these type of tyres and have you ever come across this same problem with them?
