    Default Cat Removal

Hi guys, I own a (06) vectra 1.9 cdti sri 150, i have a pipercross filter with airbox mod, i have had it chipped (amazing power) and it has i full s/s exhaust, does anyone know what there is to gain by getting a straight through pipe fitted in place of the cat, cheers davieboy.

not on a diesel, but removing a cat can lose you power due to the lack of back pressure, removing a dpf (if you had one)will be beneficial as this would cause a slight power increase on removal, but this will require some reprogramming.but if you have a manual hatch then you wont have one.

I'm sure you do, even on a diesel

I didn't think that changing the exhaust on a diesel would increase or decrease the power because i'm sure that diesels (turbo) don't require back pressure. Not sure......where are the mechanics and engine enthusiasts on here
