Finally I found time (and manners!) my subtly tarted up Flame red Vec!
Hi all!
As mentioned on yet another thread that I had started seeking advice, here's a couple of pics of my Vectra, as it's finally my time to give!
Only a 2l Elegance, but I love the 50mpg and the way it soldiers on without a fuss! Great family car!
Since I've had it its had the front wings and bonnet sprayed, and front bumper replaced (thanks to yorkiebar for his old bumpers!) also bought his rear bumper as he had the plastic painted and it was in better nick than my own!
Had the skirts painted while it was in getting fixed.
Debadged it.
Bought some new 18" Alloys (I got them for a ridiculous price 2second hand from a guy who had them on his Saab for a couple of dozen miles before he bought an Rx8. The excellent Yokohama tyres still had traces of the stickers and chalk on them and were worth more than I payed for the alloys and tyres together! :-)
Angel eyes fitted as a headlight was damaged in the same incident so thought "why not?!" :-)
Irmscher grille. Makes the Vectra look so much meaner imo!
Also have a vxr spoiler lying around since Christmas to go on the boot, and some red spray tint to make the rear lights and side repeaters completely red.
If I had've known about the possibility of facelifting when I was repairing, obviously I would have bought facelift parts as it was bonnet, headlights, wings, bumper and front panel that needed to be done!! Doh!
Still plan to facelift it at some stage as my plans of going for an Rx8 of my own are up in the air what with the crunch and all!
