Just a query, how much do wing spoilers weigh, is it a significant amount? Does it add majorly to the weight of the bootlid etc?

Ive got the Irmscher wing spoiler on mine, now im not sure about its weight, but let me put it like this.....

When i close my bootlid, i only have to pull it down half way (so its only half open) and then it will just drop down under its own weight and close properly. Now compare that to my dads car, hes got a Vec C 1.8 LS without a spoiler. When he closes his boot lid, he as to pull it down almost all the way, then actually force it down to make it close. This gives you some idea of the effect of putting a spoiler on your bootlid.

If your considering getting a spoiler, id say go for it. They just seem to finish the car off and make it look a bit sportier.

    Hope this helps mate!

    Matt...

Thanks Matt, that actually sounds like a bonus, a boot that almost closes itself without having to pull it down all the way!
I'm looking into the Irmscher wing spoiler just now, its one of the few 'musts' that I've wanted for the car, just a case of getting one and getting it fitted for the best price!

No worries mate! Although you do have quite a choice when it comes to rear spoilers. You can go for the wing spoiler like mine, or the DTM style one which makes the car a bit more aggressive looking, or you can to for the VXR spoiler like Andy has fitted on his Elite. Look forward to seeing pics when you get it fitted tho!

Yeah defo, pics to come when its done! You don't happen to know if the SRi lip spoiler has to come off or if the wing spoiler simply fits on-top of it do you?

I think if you did that then it would make a bit of a mess of your tailgate, because i think its glued to the bootlid, so by removing it you may do some damage, so id say leave it on, but you still got plenty of room to fit the spoiler.

The iRS fits fine with the lip spoiler .... no need to remove it ...
In Irmschers instructions that comes with the spoiler, you can see
in the pictures that the lip spoiler is still there .. and match ...
