    Default my magnex system?

    hi all.

getting a bit fed up with exhaust now. were it joins the standard front pipe it is a little oversized and tends to blow now and again and whistles when pulling away hard or high revving. is there a way i can make the diameter a tad smaller as in clamping it before fitting to try and squash it a little?

    any ideas lads?

got plenty of paste in the join but that dont help.

    cheers.

    kev.

just get a reducer made. its alot of messing around welding under a car if your not in right enviroment ie. garage with 4 pst ramp. you better off getting 2 bits of pipe one the size of each pipe their going connect two and welding it on bench, if you can find some pipe or get the measuremnts and il try i find some il weld it up and post it to ya and you can just clamp it on. or what i did on one of my old cars was get an exhaust repair bandage and wrap it around the pipe that tucks inside the other and clamp t down on that...

cheers for that, i will take a look as i said but i really need to get under the car properly as you say. i did buy a bandage but it was too thick and couldnt get it in between the pipes.
will keep all posted if and when i get it sorted.

think im looking at the thickness of a coke can skin to go in between the pipes. maybe that will work.

i di try a couple of other methods, one was some sticky back aluminium tape that worked and i had (still got somewhere) some thin brass shim which was prob as you well described about the thickness of a coke can.
