find the top rad hose and follow it to the engine block theres a conector above it thats you temp sensor
Top left hand side - drivers side. IIRC its in the thermostat housing.
Glad thats come up my 1.8 is the same, i thought it was this cold weather wiv had.
guess i'l have to do the same to my sensor.
Also the thermostsat is a weak point on the z18xe. It has a habit of sticking at around 45k, the whole assembly comes as one from the dealers - thermostst, housing and sensor
So it may well be mine is stuck open, i've done 60k?
That'll be another job for me when weather improves!
Thanks for the info m8
Well it could be but it may not be - little disclaimer . Mine was stuck on my astra, used to take ages to get up to temp and then with a bit of driving would drop right back again. It used loads of fuel too as it thought it was cold all the time so it ran rich.
If you do replace it, you will need to do the coolant at the same time as it will go all over the floor!
Well i can still have a tinker, or just see how it responds to milder weather over the next month or so.
I'l change the whole coolant for new out of principle if i do it.
