    Default Annoying rattle

    HI.

Im hearing an annoying metallic rattle whilst driving with windows down.

    Looked as suspension, looks okay.

Looded at radiator area, as I think its coming from there.

On the car there seems to be two layers of the radiator, with the front part slotted in the bottom and screwed on the top. Should there be screws in the bottom as it appears the bottom right corner of this front part is movable to the extent it bangs on the radiator causing a metallic sound.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Russ

no mate, only when the wheel hits a bump in the road, and it doesnt matter which wheel hits the hole/bump the sound is exactly the same, which is why im suspecting this radiator thing.

but i can physically move this front part of radiator, as if it should be screwed to the main radiator body.

to test the rad... get someone to start up the motor and stick your ear near the rad.... as it will start it will rattle to high heaven.... if u can hear it then, then it will be the rad... if not its something else.

will try that. it may also help if someone is willing to just pop their bonnet and check if this front part is screwed in on their car or if they can move theirs to the point it makes contact the main radiator body.

I had a slight noise the same, was mainly when i hit speed bumps. also new a fella with a Vectra C est he had same noise as me and he replaced strut tops, which cured. You could try that.
