    Default Potential New Owner

    Hi Everyone

I went to Vauxhall today and Tested a 54 Plate Vectra 3.2 V6 Elite Estate with 41,000miles on it.

Best Price they would do is £4,895 with 12 months MOT, 6 Months Tax and 3 Months Warranty.

Car is mint apart from a scuff on the front bumper ( which they said they would have done for me ) and the cheap alloys someone has stuck on it but tyres are new.

    Here are some pics

Just a couple of questions, I've had alot of performance cars but its time to get abit more practical thats why the vectra stood out but there dont seem to many power upgrade options for the 3.2? Also some nicer alloys like the VXR ones. Could someone point me in the right direction.

Also how does the price sound?

    Matt

Looks a nice motor. I am very pleased with mine. There are not too many ways of getting more power out of the engine, unless you want to spend a fortune on it. A remap will get a little more out, but not a lot though.

We asked that and they said no, they said it was a GM Fleet car and then 2 private owners since. Theres no ovious signs of Ex police i.e. Holes from Arials etc.. but theres a thing on the speedo thats say IRS Calibrated Notts?

Surely if was Ex Police would have much higher mileage? Only on 41k

As Rich said you could get a lot cheaper private, also I wouldn't be happy with just 3 months warranty, I would defo push for 12 after all it is from a main dealer...or did I get that bit wrong

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

GM fleet car could still be Ex Police, I have only ever seen police cars with calibrated police cars. It could have been an under cover motor, or even a demonstrator for the plod. Most white ones were. Does anyone know if white was available as a main stream colout for a 54 plate vec estate?
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

LMF have some decent deals on genuine Irmscher alloys, but not snowflakes. They have black 18's though which could look good.

Am guessing that is has those wheels on as it would have had steels on if a plod car, more likely than not.

Air box mod, filter, remap and a decent exhaust will be all you can get for this, but from those on the forum who own one they recon they regularly have more than the stated output anyway and hold their own against more 'exotic' stuff. Try to get a lighter flywheel?
