Default Aren't Cats ment to be good with trees?

On holiday this week and next, doing a few bits around the house and all that.

Outside cleaning the wifes car, as Ozzy, my big black hairy monster cat walked by. For some reason, it occured to me that I've never seen him climb a tree. So I took him over to one and popped him onto a branch about 8ft off the ground.

This was lunchtime, just occured to me I hadn't seen him since. Looked out of the window, He's still in the tree. Do you think I should get him down?? My other cat is running up and down it with total confidence, Ozzy's just sat between the two branches watching him!

The girl over the road had a cat that liked to get on the roof of the garage but could never get down, I have had to get him down more than once.........Mind you I have NEVER seen a dog that will climb a tree, mine just stand at the bottom and bark.

I used to live where we had a com garden with mature trees, in the next block to me they had a bushy tailed Tomcat, he'd chase the squirrels up the tree and then look bemused as they jumped in to the next tree, something he didn't fancy, I'm sure they used to tease him because they'd always look to see if he'd taken the bait before leaping

We have two dogs and a "dog flap", our dogs in the winter love to stick their head out of the flap to see if it is worth going outside, but the wind blows in the kitchen a treat, and let,s all the heat out.
ps when we have a labarador puppy he got stuck in the "dog flap" when he grew to big for it, I had to pull him out, then modify the flap..
