1.8 VVT Remap??

Hi,

My wife has a 2007 57 plate Vectra 1.8 VVT Sri. Now I know its not the fastest car in the world, especially as our other car (my car) is a Fabia VRS which is nice and nippy.
What we have noticed is there is a terrible flat spot in the rev range on the Vectra between 2000-4000 ish revs. Is it possible to get a remap to help address this issue or is there nothing that can be done.

Just wondering if anyone has attempted anything? We really should have got the diesel but its too late now so looking at options.

Someone will be along to confirm this but from what i've read previously I'm pretty sure the engine doesn't have that much more to give. By having a re-map you would gain very little. HTH

I don't think there is much about for these and to be honest the money to gain ratio isn't really worth it from what i'm told,

I'm not really after more power, I understand there is probably not much more there. What I'm after is trying to get rid of the flat spot between 2000-4000 revs.

Agreed the vvt wont gain much if anything . Spend money on somthing else I would .

Flay spot can be slightly smoothed out by doing the airbox mod dont forget .

Well actually, you're talking rubbish.

Rik, EDS do a remap for the 1.8VVT which gives better torque right across the range, and and additional 15hp. For £450 Midpoint Garage can do the EDS map, which gives you the same power as the 2.2Direct in a freer revving engine as there's no balancer shafts in the 1.8. Supposed to be a very good job. Add a decent exhaust and the airbox mods you'll be looking over 160hp - some VVTs do 150hp on the rollers totally standard anyway, so with a 15hp remap and exhaust and inlet mods you sohuld get a good going engine.

All I was saying is from what I have previously read. And like it said at the beginning of the post, someone will be along to confirm this, therefore meaning i'm not sure. WHY SHOOT ME DOWN FOR SAYING WHAT I THOUGHT WAS RIGHT! tbh over the last few days I have seen/read a lot of members biatching to one another about various things and it is not what I signed up for. £450 for a 15bhp more ? better off spending the cash on alloys/mods or if you do want more performance buy another car!
