    Default CD30, or not?

    Hi,

    I have just bought a 54 Reg. (Nov 2004) 2.2 16v Direct vectra.

The car does not have a radio fitted, and I would like to fill the big hole in the dash, and keep all the functions on the display etc. The car has scroll wheel controls on the steering wheel, so I believe is full CAN-bus.

Am I right in thinking that this would mean a CD30 would be the correct unit to fit?

There are a couple of CD30's on Ebay due to finish soon, that are in 'Delivery Mode' and not doorstops.

Can anyone confirm the CD30 would be correct before I blow dosh on one - I know I'll have to get it tech2'd in.

    Cheers,
    Noddy

There's about 10 different versions of the CD30, check you're getting a Vectra one that suits the wiring in your car (half-CANBUS?). The CD30 was also fitted to the Corsa and Astra, but they're slightly different shapes.

Every CD30 will work, but make sure it is one coming from a Vectra/Signum (Astra, Zafira, ... ones have a different front plate with a knick in the middle). And you better look for a CD30MP3 (it's written in the upper corner on the right)

I've just replaced my CD30 and screen with a CDC40 and GID.

I'll be selling the CD30 with it's original screen for £75 including postage if you're interested? There'll be no TECH2 issues as if you install the head unit and screen from the same car they will simply plug in and work.

My car is a 2007 SRi XPT. Both the head unit and screen are unmarked.

    Cheers,

    Nick
