    Default Loaf of Bread, 30p ?

    Since when have they put a pound infront of the penny sign

    Couldn't believe it when my daughter told me she needed £3 for 2 loafs of bread
    Whats happened whilst I as asleep?
    Should be 30p tops !!

    yeah, huge rip off.
    Used to be about 30p for a loaf, and I don't think it was really that long ago, mid 90s or so.

    edit; ah here you go, historic bread prices 1980 it was 33p http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6240619.stm

    Gone way over the quid mark in the 2 years since that article.
