Default Just been to the opticians and...`

Ive just found out i have a gammy eye!

As of recently one of my eyes has really deteriated and gotten alot worse. So i thought it was about time i booked into the optitians to get it checked out only to find out i have....

    "Staphyloma Of The Cornea"

It basicly means my Cornea is in a pretruded state when it shouldnt be, causing in effect a bluriness to vision. Reading things becomes very hard, even at close range.

So ive been referred to the Hospital to the eye clinic to get it checked out further! Been told i will possibly need a special ridgid contact lense that will push back against the pretrusion to almost in effect correct the shape of the eye thus hopefully correcting my vision!

All that in a half an hour appointment! Crazy!

I assume you cannot drive then until its sorted?

Eye tests have come on leaps and bounds, amazing what they can tell from them now
Lois Griffin: Peter! You're bribing your daughter with a car?
Peter Griffin: Ah, c'mon, Lois, isn't 'bribe' just another word for 'love'?

The optician told me i shouldnt be driving really as it will invalidate my insurance etc if i was to have a crash, but tbh i can see i just cant read things.

When i try and read something its very blur, or if i try to look in the distance its hard but most BIG obejects like cars and people attempting to cross the road etc i can see.

i myself am long sighted, and small print close up to me is totally blurred..eg canot read a news paper without glasses or even this web site however my long distance sight is spot on,to the point that when playing golf i can see where the golf ball is when my mates who are supposed to have good eyesight can't see the ball...informed the nsurance company of this (direct line) and all they are interested in is that you are able to read a number plate from 60 yards away, which i can ,no problem so don't worry ,your eyesight has to be god damn bad before you are non insurable so think on pal.

Yeh mate i can barly read a number plate from 10 yards never mind 60 lol!

I figured that my eyesight is perfect, its just because my cornea is deformed that its blurry, its like having your reading glasses on and puttin them a ft infront you and then trying to read the paper, its impossible!
