    Default Fogs??

    Can anyone clarify on the operation of fog lights??

    Should they come on if the engine is off??

    Yes they will stay on as long as the side lights are on. I think the ignition has to be on also?

    Just checked and ignition has to be on and side lights on for fogs to work. If you turn the lights or the ignition off then the fogs reset and should be off until you turn them on again. This stops you driving for weeks with the fogs on.

    Theoretically, but unfortunately it doesn't stop the baseball cap brigade from manually turning them back on again and thinking it makes them look cool driving round with their fogs on in clear weather.

    Perhaps manufacturers should restrict cars to 40 mph when fog lights are switched on. After all, if it's foggy then you shouldn't be tear arsing about anyway.

    I didn't think mine were working correctly, the engine has to be running to switch them on!!

    Nope. Just need the ignition turned on.
