    Default Limp Mode Help Please.

On thursday the car went into limp mode on the way home for work, only for about 3 seconds, then flashed off and back to normal running. no probs.

Friday morning to work does same thing, but fine afterwards and fine on way home. Been fine since.

Is it possible that snow and ice build up on the grille would cause the limp mode to kick in?

    Cheers

    Russ

Welcome to the club GB thats the i have a dti going in to limp mode club , answer to your question about ice is i would seriously doubt it , more than likely is the usual suspect,s :ie EGR valve, Boost sensor check your hoses from turbo to manifold via your intercooler , check your vacuum hose connectors for splits , do these last two first and work backwards i dont know the history of your car :ie what problem,s you have had before, but this should get you started .

happened about 18 months ago mate on one journey. after that nothing until thursday/friday (3 occurances over them days) then nothing since.

it only seems to be during extremely low weather/temperature, and or steep incline. and i think my radiator mounts need looking at! is that an easy self fix to tighten these?

Dont know about your rad mounts but what you have just said about cold weather and inclines makes me think you have a boost problem . I would take your boost sensor out and give it a clean with some carb cleaner spray, but check your hoses while you are there.
