    Default Insuring 2nd vehicle

As I said on a thread the other day, I'm after a 2nd vehicle so I can cart my belongings (in this case a very large sound system) around without damaging my vec.

Anyone got a suggestion as to who I should insure with? I'm currently with esure, but they don't offer a multicar policy and the best they could offer was £450 on an old banger Escort van (fully comp, they won't do 3rd party which i want)... Considering my Vectra is £350 a year (8 years, protected NCB, all the extras etc), it's a hell of a rip off!

Anyone got any ideas for me? My brother has offered me his Renault Kangoo, but I can't seem to find a decent insurance quote...

You will usually pay more because it'll be classed as business use because its a van and i'm sure you can't use your no-claims discount on two seperate policys. Have you tried confused.com. I've had a few good quotes from tham in the past.

Hi, my renewal for the vec with Ffortis was £469 and the wifes Zafira SRI was £360.

This was more than i was paying last year. So i tried Admiral multicar and they were much cheaper and the policy was better.

My car was £220 and the wifes was £202!! With no voluntry excess, only £60 compulsory. So i have taken it out with them. Docs arrived today and everything was in order.

Hope that helps mate, give them a go!!

    Roy.

Just found a £290 quote for the Kangoo with KwikFit... That includes a free MOT and free oil change... reckon I'l be taking that one.

Rather stupidly, it seems it's cheaper to get third party fire and theft, than third party alone...
