Coming from a police officer all I can say (from what I have read and the info from the article) is good. He wasn't on an emergency call and even he was, in those conditions he should have backed off.

Only my opinion for what it's worth,

    Robbie

What a knob. 122 in bad weather when he was already stood down. morons like that give the rest of the decent, sensible police drivers a bad name.

I hope that he gets dealt with in the same manner as a normal citizen would be dealt with.

A bit excessive to be going that quick in good conditions! I wouldn't expect police drivers to be angels and drive everywhere at the speed limit because everyone speeds to a certain degree but he was just being an idiot. It was only good luck that he didn't hit some other driver.

I think you'll find it will probably be worse for him because once the courts have dealt (and they'll hammer him) he may well lose his job!

Oh there are plenty of them on the roads mate with and without the police car! He deserves all he gets as far as I'm concerned. We have now been told that unless class one driver (he probably is) we can't go more than 20mph above any speed limit no matter what.

But as a police officer I would have hoped he would have had more sense. But I guess not, doesn't surprise me really.

I agree, it does seem like stupidity to me.
