Default Fault code P0301 on 3.2 HELP?

I have got the code 0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire.
The car runs REALLY rough, at idle and when driving really missing and juddering - will not go much above 20mph?

Yet flick to LPG and its perfect!

So i was thinking maybe its an injector/fuel prob as this is the only part that is used on petrol everything. else would be common to LPG or gas?

Any ideas what could be causing this?

    HELP!
    Thanks

If it runs fine on gas it cant be mechanical?
So would try the plug 1st then change the coil or injector
Check the injector loom aswell whilst your at it?

    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Trim : Black

    Engine : 3.0D V6

As the LPG will have an injector emulator, then it will probably be the injector or conections etc. Unlikely to be coil if it runs well, but having 5 other cylinders could mask the effect of it.

test the feed on injector plug to make sure its pulsing i use a led to test it. then if you cannot remove the injector may be best to check it with a meter

test first by connecting led to both wires on injector plug the led should pulse with engine running , if not then need to test each wire in turn should usually be switched on a - with a ign + on most cars

Iam pretty sure that the injector plus on the V6 are buried deep under the inlet manifold so will not be that easy to test directly?

Yes but not sure how to get at them, with engine running? you can get at them with the "lid" off the induction but not with engine running?
