There's something about bleeding the oil through the turbo, not sure how it's done. I don't think it's a case of bolting on and starting up.

Warm the engine up (i take it the car runs). do an oil and filter change first, but don't start the car after you've finished. Remove your old turbo. To prepare the new turbo, see if you can get hold of a syringe and top it up with engine oil (Garrett turbos come supplied with one), use this to gently introduce oil into the intake hole (not the oil return hole) whilst turning the turbo impeller. This 'primes' the turbo. Fit a new banjo as described above, or at least make sure it is spotlessly clean. Swap any parts over onto the new turbo and fit to the car. When you're done, start the car and make sure the oil pressure warning light goes out within a second or two. If it stays on, switch off and investigate why. Once running, let the car idle for 2 minutes without revving it up, whilst checking for oil leaks etc. If all's well, take her for a spin
