Default Personal reg plate changes etc????

Ok I have aprivate plate on my car
have someone coming on Friday and we are exchanging cars
Can i get a form or something to send off with my new V5
as i think the only way i can do it at present is to put the plate on retention at £110 which takes 2 weeks then put it on the new car when i get the log book back, surely there must be another way?

you can switch it straight on to the other car ( only costs £80) but it would be complicated if you dont own both cars. best ring the dvla. i did

You can take your doc's into the local DVLA office and they will do it their and then. "put it on retention" You put the old plates back on and they will even give you a new tax disc.
Google DVLA Local and see which is the closest to you.

What ever way you do it it's going to cost you the same.
To do it the way i explained above is the quickest and easiest way.

I went to my local DVLA to do my plate.
Get there before they open and get in the que if any.
I was in and out all sorted in less than 5 minute's.
Just make sure to have log book, tax disc, mot cert if needed and the money to pay.
