Does anyone know roughyl when the timing belt in a 1.8 Sri petrol should be changed?
I read somewhere that it's 100k for the diesel, not sure if its any different for the petrol. Sorry!
Most on here recommend 40K interval.
Less than £100 for the genuiine parts, - belt kit, rollers, tensioner and including water pump. There's a How To

40K to be safe, you will get all sorts of milage stated but 40K is the time and as above water pump time???
changed mine at 40K, just to be safe - think the handbook said 60K but can't be 100% on that, didn't want to risk 60K
Ive just logged in after a very long time and have been looking through my old posts and found this one.
I have only just had my timing belt changed that weekend just gone.....57k miles and the mechanic said it was all cracked and could have went anytime .
the 1.8 vvt sri handbook says 100k miles but im not trusting it, the water pump on the vvt engine is not driven by the timing belt, its on the auxilary belt
Which engine you got? The Z18XE is 6 years or 60k, the Z18XER(vvt) is 10 years or 100k.
