Default My Land Rover has died.

Just after Payney came round last night, I took my Land Rover out after doing a few maintenence jobs, and on the way back I decided to listen to the CD.

After about 1/2 mile something did not smell right, so about 400 yards from home I had to pull over as I could not see because smoke was billowing out of the dash. After panicing because I could not get the seatbelt off, I got out as flames suddenly engulfed the dash.

The thing is a total write off, fire brigade and police were there closing the road, I am absolutly gutted, just spent £200 on new rear seats and got som other stuff ready to fit.

To make matters worse, I was offered by my insurance company a policy with a fixed payout and I decided not to take it, so I will get market value.

So I have lost my Landy, and more than likely lose out loads £££ wise once the claim is settled.

At least you got out in one piece, before it went up in flames, mind you I would be gutted too.

Gutted is an understatement, I bought it in Jan 2005 and have spent that time and about £2000 getting it right.

Now it has all gone to waste. I doubt very much I will get this back.

The fire brigade recon it was electrical due to the fact that everything appeared fine until I switched on the CD player. I can only assume that there was a short of some description which caused devastation.
