Default e bay problem, advice sought.

i sold an item on e bay 1 week ago today, a pile of old motorcycle parts, for 40 quid. the buyer is nearby, but didn't make contact until 2 or 3 days later by e mail, saying he would could call on saturday lunchtime. all well and good. i waited in 2 hours, but he didn't show up. then, on sunday afternoon he left me a message on the phone apologising for the previous day. i tried to phone back immediately but it went to voicemail. then, yesterday evening, he phoned again, very apologetic, and arranged to call tonight at 19.30. guess what? yep. no show. i just raised a non payer complaint with e bay as i don't want to waste any more time with him, and i have had an offer from someone else that i would sooner take. but what has he just rather cleverly done 15 minutes later? paid by paypal.
i could refund his payment and tell him to f. off, i could tell him his stuff will be outside and going rusty if he isn't here by the weekend [which i may have to do because i need the room to work on other bikes], or i could ......er....well what can i do now? i am obliged to close the complaint because he's paid, but how patient is one obliged to be with a timewasting unreliable halfwit??

I'd tell him he's got till tomorrow evening , or there outside .
He obviously wants them , play him at his own game mate , tell him your going on holiday thursday for a month , he will be round in a flash .

people like that do my head in. Tell him he's got until a certain time or they'll be sold again. I wouldn't refund him personally.

i think you should tell him to have them collected by a certain time / day as you need the space. if not they will be outsde "as you said"....

when i advertise items on ebay that i know maybe collected i always state in my adds that item must be paid for and collected within 7days.

i guess we live and learn.

    good luck fella

Did you state how many days you would expect payment , if not then I think its 7 days and then ebay gives him more time to respond. If you refund his money he will leave negative feedback on you probably

i did put in the listing that the item had to paid for and collected in 7 days as i've been messed around once before. he's complied with the payment part - only just! legally, i don't think i could just resell the stuff from under his nose, nor probably dump it all outside in the rain - it's his stuff now. you're right, i'll have to tread carefully as the buyer has all the rights nowadays. he's already down as a blocked bidder!

    *edit*
just had the following message from him thru e bay -

Sorry didnt make it tonight, will ring before I come tomorrow, have just paid by paypal, thank you

If he's that near by wouldn't it be easier just to drop it off and put and end to it??
