Definately replace the pair. Go to Euro Car Parts and get a pair of Bilstein B4's - they're about £20 each and considerably better than the rubbish Vauxhall will sell you.

ECP import Bilstein to the UK, so are cheap.

depends how much you want to lower it by as to whether you need to upgrade the shocks.

yes the bilsteins are best to get if you're going to upgrade.

i'd say most of the guys on here have them fitted ( i know i have )

B4 are the direct replacement to the standard shocks. Ideally, you'd want B6 or B8 if you're lowering - they're the "sport" shocks and are designed for lowered cars.

    From Balance Motorsports page:

    B6 or B8 Sprint?

B6 - Ideal upgrade for standard dampers, all the benefits of B8, designed to work with standard ride height and up to 30mm lowering.

B8 - Specially designed for lowered sport vehicles. It’s a must when sports springs are used
with lowering of 30-40 mm or more. Shortened unit gives less droop and more predictable control of over/undesteer and sharper responses. (In some cases only B6 will be listed.)

Yeah, don't put VX ones on, they are rubbish, leaking is their weak point, and it can happen at any time, inspector I know failed a brand new one for leaks.

    Hi

Had a look on eurocarparts.com for the Bilstein B4 - couldnt find them listed for a Vectra. Does anyone have the part numbers?

Also - how much would a local garage typically charge to replace shockers on both sides?
