    Default Airbox Question...

Can anyone tell me how "loose" the airbox is in their car. Had a little play today and noticed the airbox moves a heck of a lot and the rubber bushes(?) do little to hold it still, so it just bumps around when pushed...

Also, when the car is accelerating, how much would this cause the airbox to wobble? Is it put under any strain or pressure that would cause it to "wobble" freely?

I've had a look in my mums and my GF's car, and the airbox is mounted firmly to the car, no movement at all.

    Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Shouldnt move at all IMO - take it to the stealers if its in warranty and get new rubber bushes put on it.

Mine is mounted quite solid on the rubber mounts. No movement at all if you give it a push. Bit of a pain when i pulled it out to do the air intake pipe and filter mod.
Are you sure all the rubber mounts are in the mount holder's correct.

No, she's out of warranty. I'll just go and order some. At least that settles that one...

But does anyone know how much stress the airbox is put under during acceleration? If it was poorly held, would it wobble around?

It should be under no stress at all as the two connect's have a flex connect on them.

Yep, there's a longish shaped one underneath, a horizontal one on the right and a vertical one on the left. (As you look at the car from the front to rear) So 3 in all. They just seem really loose.
