In an inspired departure from the norm the Massif toured the awesome Cheshire countryside in a mass convoy taking in some of the craft centres that grace this part of the world.
With the advantage of the local salt mine being on the doorstep the snow and ice was held short of the roads so the drive was very enjoyable and incident free.
Only problem for us was we arrived with a flat tyre so we had to nip off to the local garage to top it up thus missing the initial introductions.
Special mention to Mark and Cara who drove up through horrendous conditions to join us for the weekend. Lots of new faces too and as far as I could see everyone seemed to enjoy the day.
Some Pics:
First stop of the day was the Ice Cream Farm. The car park was a bit too small to take us all so the layby outside became the overspill.
After sampling some of the flavours on offer, (I can recommend the Apple Pie and Custard one ) we headed off for The candle factory.
A few purchases were made here. They really do have some quality stuff.
Then after a very filling lunch it was off to the final venue of the day at Blakemere. The snow had by now begun to fall so maybe it was this distraction that caused Chris to get friendly with foliage.
At the centre itself the snow began to fall even more.
...and it's surprising what you can pick up in the local shops. The resemblance is uncanny.
Finally a few Pics. from ColletteCam.
Thanks to Chris and Ian for organising the day and thanks to everyone that came along.
