If you smell petrol you may have a leak somewhere

If it was showing signs of needing changed it would'nt run properly

What do you mean by not run properly?

I doubt ive caught anything because the day i started smelling it id only gone round the corner to the shop when it was thick with snow, so i was driving carefully anyway.

Doubt there was any chance at all of catching anything to cause a leak!

Ahhh it will be the cold weather, your probably smelling it from the exhaust.

When i say not running properly im meaning possibly feel it hesitating when you accelarate / a bit sluggish / or a rough idle. But it id put it down to the cold weather with the motor putting more fuel in to put the idle speed up.

Honestly my friend its the norm the now, it gets very cold and more fuel goes in if you take a walk round to the exhaust you'll smell fuel (dont buzz to much of it lol).

It will go away as the temperature pics up and the engine has less work to do on idle.

P.S Its only just started snowing again up here in sunny scotland and its quite heavy does'nt look good

Yes the fuel filter is attached to the fuel tank about 12" in front of the drives side rear wheel. When/if you change it fit new clips at the time as the old ones will most probable not fit to well and may leak.
