Default 302mm brake discs on a Signum.

    Hi folks

Does anyone know if 302mm discs will fit on the front of my Signum cdti 1.9 150. I think the standard ones that are on are 285mm, so that would only mean a radious difference of 8.5mm. MY discs are worn and i`ve seen some 302s going cheap.

    Thanks in advance.

You will need new calipers, carriers and pads as well if you want 302 discs. Sorry

Unless you found 302mm kit going for a song, you may as well get the 314mm kit. I upgraded my 302mm kit on my 2.0T to 314mm and it made a big difference - so on a car with 285mm kit it'll make a helluva difference!

Might be worth you ringing round some saab dealers as when they do brake conversions they have from time to time 314mm brake sets for £150 approx iirc as some members on here have done it.

    Hi Daywalker
I have seen some mention of these before on here. Will I still then require some extra brackets or caliper hangers as I think they are called.
    Cheers.

Good idea in theory, but in practice you'll find they've all gone, unless a dealer has done a Hirsch brake conversion in the last couple of weeks (and dealers are having enough trouble selling new cars at the moment, let alone then convincing the customer that the 314mm brakes aren't up to the job and they should pay circa £1100 for the Hirsch brake upgrade). I got a set a few weeks ago by emailing all the Saab dealers in the country, in alphabetical order. I got down to V (Viking Saab) before an "S" dealer replied and said they had a set. The only others who said they had some were Brindley Saab in Wolverhampton, who have 4 sets, but their service manager reckoned they're worth much much more than £150 each. It may be worth seeing if they've got their heads out of the clouds yet, but don't hold your breath.
