Is it causing problems? I tried cleaning mine but found it much better just to replace it.

slight lumpy idle when cold - and just want to rule it out tbh, but i know the egr can cause this...

where is it located mate, and its it easy to access / take off / clean and put back?

As you look at the engine, its at the back of the head on the right side (passenger side).

Very easy to take off but not as easy to clean. Mine was ****ed and even a good clean made no difference so just replaced it. If you are going to remove it, watch out for the metal gaskets - quite easy to drop and lose them down the back of the engine bay.

I'm first to admit I am crud when it comes to spannering anything other than a Landrover which I can mend with a hammer. That having been said, I took off my EGR the other week and cleaned it and you should have seen the clag which came out of it!

It has helped with removing a nasty little misfire I had. No sign of it since. I also took the battery lead off for half an hour to reset the ECU and I'm sure that has helped too.

Follow the How To parsco posted a link to. It's a no-brainer.

And you don't need a hammer either......
