Satnav upgrade

Hi all,

I currently have a 53 plate signum with a ncdc2013 satnav with full colour screen, Does anyone know if i can upgrade to the cd70 satnav? i have found one resonably priced with the screen.

I dont think so, its the canbus, half canbus issue... I asked the same Q a while ago. I'm sure its different connections etc. I'm sure someone else in the know will give you a better answer and more detail...

It can't be done I'm afraid.

Are you all sure, as the ncdc 2013 is canbus, hence no code as it is all stored in the ecu.

The 2013 is coded to the car, but the difference is more that the age of cars with the 2013 are all "half" canbus whereas the CD70 type units were in the full canbus cars.

The communications between the units, steering controls, screens etc are all different.

i imagine you could get it to work, but there would be some issues, such as:

your steering wheel controls would not work
ignition logic would not work
speed sensitive volume would not work
tunnel driving from onboard speed/steering angle sensing would not work
climate control (if fitted) would not function correctly
fuel warning/plotting would not work


plus some others i've probably not thought of.
