Default Lowering Springs on Standard Shocks

Ive just discovered that my driver side spring is broken, so rather than replace it with another crappy vauxhall one I was thinking about just replacing them all with some aftermarket ones. (lower it a little)

I know its best to replace both the springs and dampers, but I cant afford to buy both at the moment, so will just have to do the springs for now.

I was planning on buying some (30mm drop) PI springs http://www.body-kit.co.uk/product.ph...6af244b292df7a .

Is it ok to fit these without changing the shocks??
I have a 1.8 LS Hatch with bog standard shocks.

    Cheers

yep it can be done no probs mate ive lowered my siggy with cobra springs on standard shocks and its fine although they will wear out quicker as they are not designed to work with lowered springs but as i say ive had no problems so far

They wear out quicker because they are under more stress, ie operate over shorter distance, therefore the forces are greater operating on them

The APEX ones cost less and are that bit lower, Hmmm decisions decisions.

Just dug up the thread you posted in September with before and after pics of your car with the new springs,, looks great.
