    Question Tech2 Diagnostic Connection

    Sri2.2 Direct 2004

I have without success managed to locate the Tech2 diagnostic connection on the motor. On my old ‘B’ it was under the ashtray. I have searched through the forum without getting anywhere. If it’s in the same location on this car then it’s under the drinks/coin tray. I have been unable or am reluctant to put any more force to remove it having lifted the Gear-change cover to see if there was a hidden clip. I’m fed up now & want an answer, please … (I have the covered type) as in looks like this.

Yep, remove the ashtray insert and you'll see the multi pin connector.

How? Like I said I have attempted to pull & push without any success. Does it pull up or push to the front first?

Just been out to my 02 GSi, and when you open the ashtray (push lid to open), the insert inside just simply pulls out.

Unless you've got something totally different, I've no idea.

Thanks guys off to take a look see, I told you it's my age. Could also be I don't smoke so how do I know what an ashtray looks like. Good get out. I have decided not to do this bit 'push to open then crap'
