    Default colour coded V grille

    Hi guys,

If I want to colour code the front V grille, do I need to buy a new V, or can I sand down the chrome one and paint that?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Chris

Not sure but you may need some lacquer to coat and protect it after

I have bought grey primer and my black saphire paint. I hope I got the right primer??

Will pop to halfords and get the laquer!

Is the V grille separate to the grille itself? I was looking in ebay for a grille to practice on first, but as mine is an SRi, do I need an SRi grille or will any V grill fit?

From model painting I think primer is primer. I know you can get different colours but that only helps if you miss bits so you havent got white showing through.
Enough coats and making sure you do a good job will more than suffice

You can remove just the V from the grill. Best to remove the bumper to avoid braking the clips.
Have a look at the picture's in this thread and you can see the V removed from the grill.
