Default Solid aluminium bee sting aerial (from Ed Taylor) - now colour coded. Piccies too!

I ordered one of Ed's aerials last week and have now got it colour coded after waiting for the Ultra Blue Vx aerosol paint to arrive at my dealer.

This is the aerial that Ed sent. He did me a satin finish initially, but I have given it a light rubbing with emery paper here to key the surface before painting.

So a couple of coats of paint and lacquer later (with 'baking' in airing cupboard between each coat! ) I ended up with this. You can see the good paint match here against my bonnet.

    Close-up on the car.

    Further back.

So thanks Ed for a top quality aerial (not to mention the fact that the money went to a very, very good cause). Very happy with it - and it looks even better when colour coded!!

Yeah, yeah - it has just been driven up from the South Coast to Teeside (via Wakefield) - not surprised it's bloomin' dirty! May give it a quick clean this afternoon, although it's difficult finding even a clean sponge at my folks!!

I have managed to make several more aluminium arials, to fit both sat nav and non sat nav, also a couple of smaller ones, that may fit a corsa or astra,[ I am not sure of the thread size, but I would guess they are the same], give me a shout if you are interested, it is all for a good cause..
