    Default Electrical Power Dip

Can anyone identify with this problem?.....

At low revs when manouvering in car parks etc, the heater fan, lights etc 'dip' as if there is insufficient electrical supply. A quick increase in revs retrieves the situation.

Is this a known problem on a 1.8 Petrol.

    Is it easy to fix

    Thanks in anticipation.

It's a known problem as i've seen a few people on here mention and i have the exact same issue in my 1.8 Club.

As to if there's a fix, I expect someone knowledgable will be along shortly

It'll be the electric PAS pump. It uses a lot of power and slight dimming of headlights, etc is normal when the car is only ticking over.

Perfectly normal, the pas pump is electrical and it draws a large current. You will also notice the lights "dip" when the abs or tc cuts in on these slippery roads!
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

My 1.8 does it too. Power consumption from PAS is the answer (as mentioned above). I guess the only way to stop it is to fit a larger capacity alternator and bigger battery - but i'm still not convinced you would completely eliminate it even then.
