    Default Vectra 1.9 CDTi advice

I have a 56 plate that is driving me round the bend. My local vauxhall dealer keeps giving me the run around and I dont know what to do. I have problems with the tracking keep going out after 6-7 weeks. I have a gentle vibration coming through the clutch pedal as I release it. The exhaust note seems to be getting more throaty, but there is no visable sign of a hole in the exhaust.

Ive read in various other threads about common problems with the cdti engine, the egr valve, dmf and swirl flaps.

How do I know If I need these looking at?

Is there anyone in the Ipswich region who could show me what its all about?

The 1.9 CDTi is no way as bad as it is made out to be. There are bad ones, but there are bad ones of everything.

this is why i opted for the strong 120ps 8 v.....in my opion much less to do your head in

sorry that does not help you m8

if your pedal is vibrating then i would demand them to inspect it as its very costly if it goes wrong

I have used ipswich marshalls and not been happy with their answers, pop along to underwoods in colchester and speak to rob porter (chief tecy) Im sure he'll help, he's a vxl geek

If there's no leaks in the exhaust I'd suggest they check all the hoses around the engine, can be a sod to find though, any smells coming into the car?

If you want to check the exhaust yourself to certify yourself, get a bunched up rag and hold it tight over the tailpipe, engine should start to struggle if it's airtight, don't hold it long enough to cut the engine out as you are creating back pressure and this can be bad for the engine, so as soon as you hear it hunt release it, might be an idea to get someone else to listen for leaks while you do it. hth.
