    Default Life Dilemma

    What should I do!

My other half has just applied and got offered a job in Melbourne (aus) for 2 years. We both see it as a fantastic opportunity as we have no kids-ties apart from family it would be relatively easy

Apparently I would be able to work freely over there as she is getting sponsored.

But Iím not sure - I can see plusses and minuses but Im getting a bit stressed wondering what to do. She says if I donít want to go she wont go but I feel it would be silly for her to miss this chance. some times I am thinking - yes lets go for it while other times I Im concerned about what to do with all our stuff - we have a house each (one is currently rented) and our cars etc etc.

Do I keep the car in a garage for 2 years or sell it now losing lots of money now - or later!!

She has to decide my next week!

go for it mate cause if you dont you will always regret it.

I had the opportunity a few years back when i finished my apprentiship to head out but my wife wasnt keen..it is something i still think about alot and wonder what we are missing out on..also it had the advantage of year round golf in the sunshine which was a massive draw for me..

    Life's not a dress rehersal.

Put it this way, if you didn't go, in a couple of years time there would more than likely be a moment you asked yourself what if we'd gone.

Myself. I'd jump at it. This country is going down the pan as it is.

Its a big opportunity, so take it, you can always jack it in if you don't like it but, you don't want to grow old thinking "if only". It happened to me two years ago, got a big opportunity, took it, it ****ed a lot of people off, did it for 12 months and hated it. But I look back thankful for taking the opportunity cause it taught me a lot and I was able to go back to doing what I like in the end.
    When opportunity knocks..............

you're better off regretting something that you've done rather than regretting something that you didn't do!

just get ready for a bit of pommy bashing when we kick their ar*es in the ashes again

Rich - Chris and I have had this dilemma recently - he was offered huge amounts of cash and accommodation thrown in to go out to Oz for five year contract. Unfortunately as we both have kids with previous partners we can't really take the kids away from the country for this length of time without causing serious hassle, so we have had to say no.

In your situation, I would grab it with both hands - such an amazing opportunity

Go mate. This country has gone down the toilet. (But not until you've shown me around Sally B)
