What a doughnut!!!!!!

Ok, so in a rush the other morning i got into my car in and managed to catch my coat on the windscreen wiper stalk......snap!

Managed to find a replacement part on fleabay rather than go to the local stealership but now i'm stuck, how do i pull the old one out and put this one in.

Knowing the knowledge base you guys have i'm sure there's one person here that'll now the answer.....there's a beer waiting on the bar for anyone passing the Yateley area of Hampshire that can help.

Bingo, done......that is a major achievement for me, i'm far better at snapping plastic bits off my car!!!!!!!

Done as in uploaded the pictures by the way, still wracing my brains as to how to remove old stalk.

For anyone reading this, the stalk has now been replaced.

I would like to share the technical aspect of how to replace a stalk on a Vectra c should anyone else be as clumsy as me.

Tools required....one pair of pliers
Technique.........grip the end of the original stalk still in position with the pliers then....wait for it......pull hard.

Hey presto out she comes then simply push in the new stalk.

Wanted to share this with you so no one else waists the time i did trying to figure it out.

Top job & a quick fix if it’s worked, must say it sounds very drastic. I’ve just come from getting the dogs & sleigh ready to help so I'll stand them down for the time being, SIT dam you dog..
