Default Return to car and the windows are down??!! : WTF??!!

    Hi,

This has happened a couple of times, mostly last year.

But it did it again last week and yesterday.

    Go to work, park car.

Go out to car to go home 10 hours later and both front electric windows have opened down about 4 inches, both exactly the same on each side.

    What the hell causes that?

dunno another lad on ere is having same issue.
i was told that you can rectify it by resetting the windows.

sit in car ignition on but not running the engine.
    start with windows up.
hold both buttons down until they get to very bottom.
then keep holding for bout 20 seconds

then put em back up at same time until they close and hold for 20 secs
not sure if it works as never had to do it, but seems to resolve most lecy window issues on vecs. helped when my one touch stopped working!

you must be pressing the keyfob for too long when opening the doors that causes the windows to go down

Cheers, I'll try that reset thingy.

So - Is it a fault or a feature then?.

If it is a feature, what on earth is the point of it?

No m8, I lock the car up using the remote and it's all normal. When I go back to the car later, before I even press any buttons on the remote, the windows are already down.

Just as an aside you only need 2 secs fully down or up and not necessarily at the same time. You have to do this if you disconnect the battery and the autodown and autoup functions have to be reset so it needs the references. It seems that it is more to do with the keyfob as holding the shut button also does this.
