    Default Renault clio key fob

My daughter can't lock her S reg Renault clio anymore, the key fob is knackered and the key won't operate the door locks now. The stealers want a ridiculas figure for a new key and reprogramming. There's plenty of working key fobs on ebay for a fraction of the price and iv'e found a How to reprog the key yourself. Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer the old blade into the replacement key fob. Thanks.

I'd be interested to find out why the key doesn't fit the car anymore. What happens if the fob battery goes flat and won't operate the locks when you get it fixed?

Even if it can't, she may have to have 2 fobs, one to open the car and the other for ignition. Maybe cut off the door lock fob key to make identification easier

The cars getting on a bit now, it still runs ok but the doorlocks are faulty. The key still turns the ignition no problem, she could live with 2 keyfobs. She's just looking for the cheapest option.

You never actually said she needed a cheap option, just that it was expensive for the dealers to fix. Although I understand what your saying
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I think mate 'it still runs ok but the door locks are faulty' this is part of the problem. You have a good key but the locks are very worn. Even when you have a new key cut for a home lock, do they work first time & that's just to turn the dam thing.
