just been to vauxhall to book car in to sort a few probs out, creaking going over speed bumps, possible rad mounts and a vibrating in the steering wheel , still under network Q warranty, they said if needed wheels balanced its not covered, so i said i will sort it myself, hope they sort the creaking out,.

If they balance the wheels, will they charge a reasonable fee? As you have told them that you will do it, it will be interesting to know if they actually do it and try to charge you...

my local garage are bound to do it cheaper than vauxhall

if you get it done elsewhere they could just say it hasn't been done right. i had this with a vw scirocco that pulled to the right under power. had the tracking checked at ATS or somewhere, they said it was spot on. went to my local garage [where i should have gone in the first place...]who checked it and said it was miles out... they altered something and it was perfect afterwards.

Wheel balancing is usually only covered if they originally provided that service as part of a necessary procedure
Ask them for a price and what setting they would use, then contact two or three local tyre fitters, shouldn't be more than £5 per wheel

Usual cause is swapping rear wheel to front and it is best to have that done when new tyres are fitted
