I got the handbrake recall letter through from vauxhall yesterday
11 months after I sold the car
I got one last week
3 months after i sold my car, so i called them and updated details on their system, also checked if my current one had been done and it has
I recived one the other day too. I still have the car, sosI should book it in to be sorted. What do they have to take to peices and replace?.
I just passed the letter onto my landlord (he bought the car off me for his daughter) and told him to let vauxhall know the change of ownership when he takes it in
yeah mate I got one last week or the week before 12 months after I sold the car whats going on there
Still haven't received my letter.
How do I chase it up, if I care to do so?
I think its the ratchet mechanism they replace, but I might be wrong.
Nope, it's just fitment of a stronger spring. It's purpose is to ensure that if the handbrake should slip, it will 'take' on the next ratchet down, rather than drop completely.
And Ed, it is worth doing, as the brake feels held on much more firmly. Takes about 20 minutes. Just take your car to the dealer to get it done. It's a recall, so it won't cost you, and should be done 'while you wait'.
How do i check to see if my vehicle has had it done?
Is there a phone number i can ring who can can check the reg plate etc
