Steering Wheel Controls, Stopped Working!

Hi all, We have not used the car during the last two days due to the snow, My wife goes to work this morning and reports that the steering wheel controls are not working (Button Type). I have looked through other posts but can only see one that has cured the problem (loose wire in back of HU), now i will check this in time but, i do fear the worst....could it be the CIM? or have they a fuse which may have popped? They DID work on Sat. night when i drove the car

The back of the HU has a large multi plug. 2 parts are for power and sound like on any aftermarket HU and the 3rd's for the controls and screen. There all molded into one block so if they have come loose everything should stop working. If you pop the HU out you will see the plug in the back of the cage, you never know, a previous owner might have fitted a hands free and separated the 3 plugs like I did on mine to circumnavigate the need for an extra loom, if so the plug your looking for can come loose on its own.

Update: Just been out in it and when i press the Tuner, Nav, or Audio settings button it keeps flashing up "SAFE MODE", Would this stop the steering controls working? and why has it gone into safe mode? very confused now???

Its gone into safe because somehow the power has been cut to it for a bit. Multi Plug is deffo the first place to look.

Thanks for the reply, i will look as soon as i buy some radio pins. How do i stop it being in "SAFE MODE"?

You will have a "Car Pass" in your Car wallet, it will have the code on mate. The instructions on how to put impute the code are in the Audio manual. HTH

Just looked at the car pass and manual and the NCDC 2013 doesnt have a code, even more confused now
