    Default Rear parking sensors

HI chaps quick question looks like my rear parking sensors have packed up, I put the car into reverse and the start beeping like a demented rave, however they certainly don't measure distance, I tried it but fortunately it was only a hedge I backed into (slowly of course).
Any thoughts or is it a trip to the dealers to get them to fix them?
    Thanks
    Ian B.

Are they factory fit or aftermarket? if aftermarket then a replacement set to isolate the fault, i.e sensors or unit, it sounds like just one duff sensor. If factory fir then locate the control and unplug one at a time to see if you can isolate the faulty sensor.

It is snow or ice in the sensors they all do they need cleaning out if it annoys and you are not reversing just switch them off.

I know this is an old post but still relevant! Mine has started doing this - was going to get the garage to check it out when the next service due. How easy it is to check the sensors to make sure they are clean (nnot knowing the first thing about them!!). I take it is not as simple as wiping over the plastic covers?!
