    Default Child car seats

As my fiancee is expecting our first child I was wondering how to fit a car seat in the front passenger seat. The manual goes on about all kinds of sensors and stuff and to use only a vauxhall seat. Is there not just a simple way of turning the passenger side airbag off?

    Thanks in advance.

Ive looked in depth at it mate and unless u unplugg the airbag physically u cannot do it.

why would u need the car seat in the front seat anywayz?

Thanks for that, seems strange though most cars have a switch near airbag that you can put key in to switch off airbag.

Was just thinking if for some reason I wasn't there and fiancee needed to take baby out in car, in case of emergencies etc.

If you buy the VX car seat, it can go in the front. A sensor in the VX car seat disables the passenger air bag.

Can't seem to find the Vauxhall seat's though, not on Vauxhall Accessories. Also, I guess its their way of saying its not a good idea and its only for 9-12 months, after that it'll be in the back with an isofix seat anyway.

this is only if your car is fitted with the correct transponder system, which i think is an option and not standard. i personally woiuld much rather have the baby in the back than in the front, also if your car is an sri, be careful to get a rear facing seat that seats correctly on the rear seat. we looked for ages to find a good fitting one, and then decided to go with the vx one.

We had a Maxi Cosi Priori XP, had it in a couple of cars and always a great fit. We bought ours from Mothercare a few years ago. Would certainly recommend.
If you have a Mothercare World local to you pop down and they will try seats out until they find the correct fit. We bought the Priori XP originally as we had an Alfa before the Signum and it had the rear bucket sports seats. The Priori XP was the only one to fit - Great fit in the Signum too.
