    Default Stopping smoking

I stopped smoking on the 3rd January after, well, far too long. Despite a 1 packet lapse a couple of weeks ago while on the , have not smoked since.

Trouble is it seems to be getting harder as time passes. I thought it was meant to get easier!!

    Help!!

    Anybody in the same situation?

    PS, no please LOL!!

Tried and failed unfortunately, did make 3 months when i slipped up using a major stressful situation as an excuse.

It did get easier, and the longer i went, the more motivated i was.

Just keep at it mate, think of how much healthier you are going to be and the £££ you are saving.

I've failed twice Matt, second attempt was cold turkey and it was working until my dad got ill, on this second attempt I used a cheat mode on it, I'd have a rolly when the urge got really bad, I figured a couple of rollies a day was better than failing full stop and doing 20 superkings again, I got there soon after though, but I still think give in to the desire once in a while is better than pulling your finger nails out desiring one you deny yourself.

    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Trim : Black

    Engine : 3.0D V6

    Year : 0000

I quit for 3 years, by using nicotine gum. After a while I replaced that with normal sugar free gum, and then stopped that too.

Had a few fags last year after a particularly heavy drinking on new years eve, thinking it was just for the night - WRONG. Back on the fags now.........

My advice would be NOT to have any at all, go and do something else for while. Break your old routines - when you used to go for a fag do something else.

I must admit, I am the kind of fella if I have one, I'll have more.

I have been avoiding them like the plague!! On the gum too. It's OK when you give it a chance...

Took me three goes. The last one the missus played a blinder and kept the money to one side that I would have spent.

Passing a Hi Fi shop a few months later I noticed some Mission Floorstanders in the window which I had been after for months. She went in and bought them...

Still regard my self as a smoker though. It's about six or seven years since the last one.

    Good luck.

Christ!! So, it never get easier then, just more tolerable?

It's something i think we all regret starting!! Easy to start almost impossible to stop. I am already turning into a bore nagging kids I know who have started the tabs!! Especially my 19 year old cousin!

Well done everybody who stayed off 'em.
