    Default Changing the display

    Hi All,
Ive just bought a 55 vectra cdti breeze (CD30) , and was dissapointed to find there is no info (mpg/trip) provided on the display.
The display in looks like the basic one with 2 buttons and from all the searches ive done and info ive found on this site, it will not ever display this.

so my first question is what display do i need to get the info displayed ( i think its a BID or CID or GID), and are the displays an easy swap job.

I also realise that it will need a visit to VX to enable these features.
Is there anything i need to be aware of when buying a replacement display ?

I have searched a fair bit and think I know what I need, but would like someone more experienced with these units to verify if im right.

    Cheers

Looks like you have a TID
    "triple info display"

If you have then you don't really have any options as the plug for a GID is 32 pins and the TID is 18 pins unless you do what i'm going to try and do which is hard wire a GID into my car,For that you will need a GID from a 02-03 car as these shouldn't be coded to stereo and the dash loom from said car or the plug from the screen loom,Then connect them up using this GUIDE

Hi, thanks for the quick repsonse, i read that guide, but it appears to be only for up to 2004 cars, and not for ones with CD30 fitted.. or did i read the translation all wrong ?

If thats the case, am i better looking and waiting for a cdc40 with display to turn up for sale ?

Not sure if you can upgrade to a cdc40 some one on here will be able to tell you.
But you should still be able to fit a GID as long as you get one that has been unpaired or divorced from the original stereo, unless you get one from a NDC or CCR2006 as these were not paired to the stereo (so I'm lead to believe)

Think best bet would be a CCR2006 screen tbh

ps....if you do manage to get it plugged in you will have to add wires to get mpg, trip computer working and a few trips to Vaux for tech2

Think there was a post on here mate about some one else that found the plug taped up,they tried but it didn't work, but if you don't try you wont know
if it works you will have a big TID instead of a little one
