I just got 2 Falken ZE912 (225/45/17's)fitted for £160 all in at Yeadon Tyres. Read though this thread as you can get them fitted at your door cheaper. I opted for my usual fitter as he does me the odd favour now and again, and its always wise to keep a man like that although Pauls link was very tempting.

I've used them twice and they have been good both times. And they were quite cheap. Another place you could try is Event Tyres. They come out to you and fit your new tyres and take old ones away.

If you opt for 225/45/17's instead (as per the alternate size mentioned in the handbook) they will be cheaper still as there is a bigger choice available.

You won't notice it - the bigger difference on my set is the shape of the tyre cross-section - I've the usual 215/50r17 NCT5s on the rear, and they have bowed sidewalls, but the 225/45r17 F1 Asymmetrics on the front are much more square-walled.

TBH the tyre-to-arch gap is different front to rear even with the same size tyres, which has occasionally caused some to think their ride height is off, but is perfectly normal and something only a new set of lowered springs will solve!

The profile is calculated from the width so as the 225's are wider the profile is about the same in actual measurement. Works out to be about 2mph under at 60mph.
