2.2 petrol thump on throttle take up

hi i have a 2,2 that say you cruise with no throttle eg down a hill or to slow down , then gently and lightly reaplly the throttle instead of a gentle increase in power there is a thump of power like i have bange hte throttle down , this doesnt happen if the car already has revs on

hope this makes sense im just wondering if this is a feature?

could try giving the throttle body a clean?

Is this the fuel cut off on overrun? Page 187 of the manual

cheers guys , if it is hte fuel cut off none of my other cars that have this feature do this and ones a v8 so i thought that would show some symptons ill try cleaning the throttle body , my 1st thought was engine mounts but they seem ok
